Surrey Parks offer a surprising variety of bird life. Kyle Elliott will lead a couple of free walks for the beginner to intermediate birder. The walks will focus on familiarity with many of the regularly occuring species as well as basic identification skills and are open to everyone with an appreciation for wild birds.
For all walks:
- a pair of binoculars and a field guide are helpful but not essential.
- dress warmer than you think is necessary. It is always better to be too hot and take something off than to be too cold and not have something to put on. Bring a warm pair of gloves.
- wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes. Waterproof is better but not essential.
- the walks will proceed rain or shine so bring rain gear if you have some.
